VoiceKeys brings a new dictation system to iOS

VoiceKeys is a new tweak released this evening in Cydia by Ryan Petrich, the initiator of the Tweak Week project that brought us so many interesting tweaks. VoiceKeys is a dictation system that uses an Internet connection and Google's dictation system to bring to iOS a way to dictate notes in various applications. The tweak is implemented directly in iOS with the help of ActionMenu and when you open an application that allows text input, you will have to click on the text input field and a bar with options will be displayed and among them you will have the VoiceKeys option.

Text dictation via Google's speech recognition service.

Requires a connection to the Internet. Uses the speex library

Enable dictation mode from the ActionMenu item, or by using the phone's proximity sensor.

Practically, the tweak works as in the image above, activate the options bar, select Voicekeys and a pop-up will be displayed on the screen and at that moment you must say the text to be written by the device. After you have finished speaking, press the Recognize button and wait for the text to be entered. The big problem with this system lies in the fact that not all words are recognized correctly, so it is extremely possible that VoiceKeys will be absolutely useless even in the case of speaking some texts in English.

The good part is that VoiceKeys is available for free in Cydia in the BigBoss repo. From the iOS settings menu we can change the VoiceKeys settings.
