In Western Europe, more smartphones are bought than classic mobile phones

Although it may seem hard to believe, in Western Europe the sales of smartphones they passed them on those of classic mobile phones for the first time in history. Of course, iPhones and Android terminals are the ones that fully contributed to this growth, and smartphone sellers announced that in recent months "smart" phones represented 52% of mobile phone sales. This radical change in consumer preferences is explained by the fact that mobile phone operators in Europe offer much bigger discounts in the case of smartphones than in the case of classic mobile phones.

On the other hand, we must not forget that there are many very cheap Android smartphones and consumers prefer to buy one of them instead of a classic mobile phone. Of course, this trend will also be adopted by consumers in Central Europe, where we have countries such as Germany or Italy, countries where the population already widely adopts smartphones instead of classic mobile phones. Samsung has the largest market share in terms of smartphone sales in Europe, followed by Nokia and Apple, but in the near future Apple could easily overtake Nokia, but not Samsung.
