Siri's security protocol has been broken, the assistant can work on any device

Just one month after the release of the iPhone 4S and the Siri personal assistant, we finally have proof that Siri can work on any device, not just iDevices. Those from Applidium they managed to break Siri's security protocol and managed to find out everything that happens when we communicate with the assistant. They discovered that Siri sends and receives a lot of information from Apple and that the assistant identifies itself to Apple as an iPhone 4S and cloning the identification data allows Siri to be run from anywhere, anytime. Moreover, Siri can be implemented without problems in iOS or even Android applications, so soon we may see applications from Cydia that will work with Siri. Applidium managed to run commands through Siri installed on a device other than the iPhone 4S and obtained responses from Apple's servers, so the whole process works without problems.

Today, we managed to crack open Siri's protocol. As a result, we are able to use Siri's recognition engine from any device. Yes, that means anyone could now write an Android app that uses the real Siri! Or use Siri on an iPad! And we're going to share this know-how with you.

The interesting part is that AppLidium claims that any iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch/Mac/Android terminal or other device can be used with Siri, the problem is that the assistant must be ported to the respective devices. Those from Applidium already offer everyone the files with the help of which they will be able to use Siri from any device, but the process is complex and not available to everyone. Practically as soon as a jailbreak solution for the iPhone 4S is released, we may see enough tweaks or applications that will use Apple's assistant to improve the experience of using our terminals.
