Apple interested in launching Aperture for iOS

Many rumors related to the possible release of an Aperture application for iOS have been published in the past, but now we have information directly from Apple. Company published on its website a job offer specifying that the team that develops the Aperture software is interested in hiring people capable of developing applications for iOS. If until now there were doubts about the development of an Aperture application for iOS, this job offer should make them forget because Apple is interested in bringing its software to iDevices as well.

Apple's Aperture engineering team is looking for an enthusiastic Cocoa engineer to contribute to the development of advanced photo management and editing capabilities for our high-end photo management solution. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys the challenge of presenting advanced user interactions and complex workflows in an easy-to-use interface.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in programming for iOS
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Degree in HCI
  • BS in Computer Science and 7+ years of experience or equivalent

Even if an iOS version of the Aperture application will not be released, Apple will at least develop a prototype of it and test it. In general, Apple tests all kinds of applications for iDevices, but few end up being actually launched.
