Lingual translates the texts read to Siri, it is a real help for tourists

Last night I talked to you about AssistantExtensions, a kind of plugin for Siri that allows the development of tweaks that extend the assistant's functionality for iOS. AssistantExtensions is a kind of SBSettings because it allows the development of some tweaks that, in combination with it, can extend the functionality of the Siri assistant in the iPhone 4S. One of these plugins launched just last night is called Lingual and with its help we can turn Siri into a translator. Practically using this tweak we can translate any words or sentences by simply saying them when the Siri interface is active. Siri will immediately take the phrase and translate it into one of the 30 languages that the tweak recognizes (including Romanian), but the bad part is that the text input must be done using one of the languages that Siri recognizes.

Translate to over 30+ languages using Siri. Created by the CodeThemed team, designed by twitter.com/Mazalthan and developed by twitter.com/TheNickF.

To use, say to Siri: "translate something to [language]" or "what's something in [language]". For example, "what's how are you in Spanish?"

Notes: No icon is added to your home screen, and no settings are available for this tweak. Simply install, respring, and talk to Siri.

If you do not know English, French or German then this tweak is completely useless for you because Siri will not recognize the words spoken in other languages although it will be able to translate them if you speak them in one of the 3 languages mentioned previously. Lingual is a good idea, but unfortunately it is not of any interest for those who do not master one of the 3 languages presented previously. Lingual is available for free in Cydia in the BigBoss repo, but you need to install assistantExtensions to use it. Below is the list of the 30 languages supported by Lingual.

Arabic, Czech, Danish, German, Estonian, Finnish, French, Dutch, Greek, Hebrew, Haitian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Latvian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
