Apple explains the problems with the iMessage system

I told you last night that through a bug in the iMessage system you could find out everything that the former owner of your iDevice is discussing. The whole system has a big big problem with identifying the iDevices from which messages are sent and Apple knows about the problem but claims that it doesn't exist. In last night's article I detailed the experience of a person who took an iPhone to be repaired at an Apple Store and when he received it back he noticed that he was receiving all the conversations that an Apple Genius had with his friends. An Apple representative he explained today that said problem appeared because that Apple Genius did not respect the store's protocol and inserted his own card into the terminal that needed to be repaired and before removing it he forgot to deactivate iMessage for it. The problem was downplayed as an extremely rare one that users should not encounter.

This was an extremely rare situation that occurred when a retail employee did not follow the correct service procedure and used their personal SIM to help a customer who did not have a working SIM," Apple representative Natalie Harrison told The Loop. "This resulted in a temporary situation that has since been resolved by the employee."

Unfortunately, the whole problem is not at all rare and many people encounter it even if they disable iMessage on a phone. We know that Apple recognizes the existence of the problem, but we do not know why it has not been solved until now and is presented as an extremely rare one that would not appear to a normal user. I remind you to be careful when using the iMessage system because if you sell the iDevice in question, you might give an unknown person total access to your conversations.
