Apple increases the size limit of an application that can be downloaded via 3G

Apple changes the limit for downloading applications from the App Store this evening so that now 50 MB is the maximum size of a file that can be downloaded through a 3G connection. Downloads via Wi-Fi connections have no limit, but those via 3G have been increased and are now 50 MB. The change comes as a result of the implementation of the Retina screen in the new iPad tablet because the new graphics will take up much more space inside the applications.

The change applies both to applications dedicated to the iPad tablet and to those dedicated to iPhones.
