In the new iOS 5.1, Apple slightly modified the way to open the camera from LockScreen and now simply pressing the button no longer allows opening the Camera application from iOS. The rationale behind this change is probably related to the desire to avoid accidental opening of the application by users, so the security system implemented by Apple is presented by changing the opening method. Practically, now drag the Camera application icon upwards and the application will be automatically opened and you will be able to take pictures.
