Foxconn employees are unhappy with the reduction in working hours

I told you in the morning that Foxconn made the decision to reduce the number of weekly working hours for each of its employees after Apple was intensely criticized because of working conditions in China and the Fair Labor Association discovered numerous irregularities there. Those from Foxconn claim that they will reduce the weekly working hours but will keep the employees' salaries intact, but some of the people who work in the company's factories are worried about these measures. They earn a lot of money from working overtime in the factories and now they fear that Foxconn will not keep their word and will reduce their wages if they do not work on the production lines.

We are worried we will have less money to spend. Of course, if we work less overtime, it would mean less money. We are here to work and not to play, so our income is very important. We have just been told that we can only work a maximum of 36 hours a month of overtime. I tell you, a lot of us are unhappy with this. We think that 60 hours of overtime a month would be reasonable and that 36 hours would be too little. I don't go out that much as there is nothing much to do. I do go out for a meal once in a while.

Foxconn employees want to work 60 additional hours every month, Foxconn could only give them the opportunity to work 36 hours and this is where the complaints started. Some Foxconn employees earn almost $700 per month thanks to overtime and this income could decrease considerably following the application of the new measures and many do not want this. Practically, a lot of people complained about the pity of the Foxconn employees, but the reality is that they want to work a lot because they get money as they go.
