Here's how long it takes to test a beta version of iOS

Starting with iOS 2.0, Apple offers application developers the opportunity to test an important version of iOS before it is officially released to users. After almost 4 years of beta testing for new versions of iOS, a developer thought of making a graph in which to introduce us the period during which the testing of the beta versions took place, but also the number of beta versions available for each version of iOS separately. Looking at the graph, you notice that iOS 5 had the longest beta testing period, of 128 days, but it did not have the highest number of beta versions because it shares the first position with iOS 2.

Regarding the number of days of beta testing, iOS 5 is followed by iOS 2 and iOS 5.1, these versions of iOS being tested by developers for more than 3 months before being released. On the other side of the "barricade" we have iOS 2.1 which has been tested the least, the developers having it available for about 50 days. On average, major new versions of iOS seem to be tested for about 2 months and seem to stretch over about 4-5 beta versions before reaching iTunes. For now, iOS 6 is available in beta version 2, but by the fall we may have 5-6 more beta versions of it.
