AT&T will launch a mobile phone blocking system next week, the iPhone could be affected

A few weeks ago I told you that AT&T, and other operators in the US, are going to introduce a system to block stolen mobile phones and here it is next week this system will be officially released. Those from AT&T offer users the opportunity to request the blocking of a stolen mobile phone, and this of course involves Apple's iPhones. Those from AT&T do not say whether this blocking will also be done in Apple's servers, and unfortunately I cannot tell you this either, because Apple's people have a rather strange attitude in this regard.

The company sent a message [above] to customer service representatives on Wednesday advising them of the change. According to the guidance, AT&T will compile a "blocklist" of stolen devices and service will be automatically suspended "if any attempt is made to use a device that is stored in the blocklist." The only way to add a device to the list will be by contacting a customer service representative directly, and users with remote data wipe apps will be required to activate them before suspending their device, to "prevent access to their personal information."

Apple has a habit of replacing stolen iPhones even when their real owners report the theft, so it would not be excluded that stolen iPhones are not blocked in its servers. If, however, Apple will block stolen iPhones, then there are very high chances that you will not be able to activate, except by hacktivation, an iPhone stolen in the USA and resold in Romania.
