Inside the Cupertino campus Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), develops new technologies for interesting products and today I have a patent for you which describes a cover Smart Cover extremely interesting. It would have a flexible screen that would work as a secondary screen for the iPad tablet and could display messages received by the tablet, it could allow users to use the screen as a virtual keyboard for the tablet, or it could even work just like a normal screen and would allow users to use a stylus to draw various objects.
Of course, the functionality does not stop here, because the Smart Cover case would connect directly to iOS, and would expand the space available on the screen by implementing buttons to control multimedia functions, would allow the display of various messages, etc. Unfortunately we are only talking about a patent that Apple has registered and not about a real product that is available in stores, but there is a good chance that the iPad 4 will bring this cover to the market and I for one would be happy to have it available for tablet.
