This is how mobile phone batteries are counterfeited

Every time we talk about counterfeit products, we talk about China, a country where originality is not highly valued among its citizens. If in the past we presented clones of iDevices, well today I present you the fake batteries that are produced for various mobile phones, or even for our iPhones. In China there are tens/hundreds or even thousands of stores where counterfeit batteries are sold in large numbers to Chinese people interested in quickly and cheaply changing an old or broken battery.

Step one: They will find a battery that could fit your phone. If there isn't a perfect match, they can "shrink or enlarge" the shape of the battery.

Step two: They need to fit a connector (which comes in a form of a long strip) onto the copper contact points of the battery, the extra length will be trimmed by scissors after the correct position is fixed.

Step three: In the end, they may add some final touches to make sure the battery fits into the nickel phoney.

The respective stores collect batteries from various manufacturers, regardless of the brand, and when a customer enters the store with a phone, the seller looks for a battery that fits the device exactly, or that is close to fitting . The battery can be cut to enter the slot inside the terminal and for the customer it doesn't matter if the battery is made by the phone manufacturer or by another retailer, the important thing is that it is cheap.

In 5 minutes, any merchant makes a battery "compatible" with any phone, and some boast that they have sold several tens of thousands of such batteries over time.
