UPC intends to offer mobile telecommunications services in the coming years

UPC, one of the largest providers of TV, telephone and internet services in Romania, inted to enter the mobile telecommunications market in the coming years. Severina Pascu, CEO of UPC Romania, stated that in the company's long-term strategy the entry into the mobile telecommunications market was also taken into account, but for now everything is at the project stage. I don't know how successful they will be, I assume they will start with mobile internet and then switch to telephony, but a market with Orange, Vodafone, Cosmote, RCS & RDS, UPC and possibly 2K Telecom, looks pretty good.

I did not participate in the ANCOM auction because you can enter the mobile zone without a license. Our group, LGI, has a mobile strategy that includes countries that have a license, such as Chile, and there are also countries with an MVNO model, such as Germany, Hungary. At group level there is a strategy... yes, also for Romania. For now, it is in the project phase, in which we are analyzing the market and looking at opportunities. It is part of our long-term strategy to address this mobile part as well.
