Apple is being sued in New Zealand because it refused to honor $35 orders that were actually worth $1600

You have seen in Romania many cases in which online stores mistake the prices of some products, and although usually the wrong prices are higher than the current ones, sometimes it happens that they are much lower. The same thing happened to the Apple company in New Zealand, where many products had extremely low prices, and a local took advantage opportunity to buy more than he needed. He noticed that some cases were available at Apple with a discount from $89 to only 83 cents, he would have confirmed the authenticity of the prices with an employee, then for $35 he bought products that in reality were worth $1600.

So the whole range from that supplier was really super cheap and so I thought: this can't be right, there's something incorrect here. I ordered a bunch of stuff. I spent about $35 and got about $1600 worth of gear, so I was pretty happy with myself then. Two or three days later they came back and said the order had been canceled because there was a problem with the price. So I was spewing. I said to him: this is not on, I phoned you, your call center assured me that you'd honor that order.

Apple took the money from the card, started sending some products and then intercepted them, but after a few days canceled the orders for the still undelivered products. Now the citizen from New Zealand has called Apple to court, demanding that the products bought on the website be delivered to him. He has on his side the conversation with an employee of the company, and if it is authentic, then Apple has no way to defend itself. It is true that there is a mistake in the middle, but for Apple a loss like this is insignificant and the negative publicity resulting from it affects the company much worse.
