More than 1 million applications have been published in the App Store so far

Although more than 700.000 applications are currently available in the App Store, from 2008 until now more than 1 million applications were published in the Apple store. The information comes from the company Appsfire, which monitors everything that Apple publishes in its store, and they claim that today the figure of 1 million published applications has been exceeded. Other similar systems do not yet confirm what AppsFire tells us, but each system does its own monitoring and there is no agreement between them.

Almost half of all the applications published so far in the App Store were paid, and that says a lot about the way the entire ecosystem was thought. It is unlikely that Apple will ever mention the fact that 1 million applications have been published in its store, but it will certainly celebrate the moment when 1 million applications will actually be available in the App Store. If you wonder why there is a discrepancy between the number of applications published in the App Store and the number of applications actually available, I will tell you that some were withdrawn by Apple and some were withdrawn by developers.

The figure of 1 million applications was reached 4 years after the opening of the App Store.
