Apple is interested in using Forsquare's databases to improve the maps in iOS 6 Maps

Apple is trying hard to improve the application's maps iOS 6 Maps and the latest attempt has Foursquare in the middle. I'm talking about a social network where users share their locations, and Apple wants to benefit from the information provided by this service. Those from Forsquare have an extremely complex database that contains many locations around the globe, and Apple wants to obtain access to it to implement the information in its own system.

Apple Inc. is in early discussions to integrate local data from Foursquare Labs Inc. into its mapping application, according to people familiar with the talks, as the company continues to build an arsenal of local data to try to take on Google Inc. The talks, which took place in recent weeks and involve Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue, are the latest sign of Apple's plans to more tightly integrate local services into the iPhone and iPad.

Eddy Cue is negotiating with those from Forsquare to take over the information and there is a possibility that next year we will also have it available via iOS 6 Maps. Forsquare contains extremely many businesses and important locations from many countries around the world, their implementation in iOS 6 Maps would be extremely beneficial for all users, but it remains to be seen if the two companies will come to an agreement.
