Based on sales, the iPad tablet would rank 11th in the list of the largest US technology companies

Fortune's i do today a little exercise of imagination, calculate the sales that the iPad tablet generated for the Apple company and consider the tablet with an entire US technology company. Last year the iPad tablet generated sales of 32 billion dollars for Apple, and in 2013 it is estimated that it will bring 46 billion dollars to the accounts of the company from Cupertino. Assuming that the iPad tablet was actually a company, based on its sales, it would rank 11th in the list of the largest companies in the US and 98th in the Fortune 500 list.

According to a recent report from Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi, the iPad line brought in $32 billion in sales last year — accounting for just over 60% of all tablet sales — and will grow 75% in 2013 to $46 billion. With numbers like those, Sacconaghi estimates that would make the iPad business, on its own, the 11th largest tech company.

Based on this turnover of 46 billion dollars, the iPad tablet would have higher revenues than McDonalds, Nike, Macy's, or Gap, extremely well-known companies in the USA. Of course, we are only talking about an exercise of imagination, but the amounts brought by the iPad into the accounts of those from Apple are impressive, and if we take into account the iPhone, then we are talking about a completely different story.
