In Q1 2013, each iPhone generated $640 for Apple

Q1 2013 was the best fiscal quarter in Apple's history, almost 48 million iPhones being sold in just 3 months. Those from asymco they did a short calculation to see how much Apple earned from the sale of these terminals, and they came to the conclusion that, on average, each iPhone sold brought in $640 for Apple. The figure is very close to those recorded in the fiscal quarters for Apple, and if we are talking strictly about smartphones, then the figure is high, because no manufacturer manages to obtain something similar.

Although in the USA the iPhone 5 is sold for $650 decoded, and $199 with a subsidy from the operators, adding the prices of over $1000 from other countries, we arrive at an average revenue of $640 for each iPhone sold. Based on these figures, Apple managed to obtain over 50 billion dollars in revenue in just three months, and the current results will most likely be beaten next year.
