Apple is accused of bribing Russian government officials

In Russia, the Apple company risks being dragged into a corruption scandal after it financed a trip to London for several Russian government officials. Several regional ministers for education and other government officials went to London, on a trip sponsored by Apple, to familiarize themselves with the technologies developed by the company and implemented in its own products. The officials were accommodated right in the center of London for the entire duration of the trip, and the sponsorship is suspicious because it came shortly before the start of an educational program to modernize educational institutions.

66.5 million dollars are attributed by the Russian government to this program, and Apple seems to have tried to "convince" people with decision-making power to choose its products. It remains to be seen if in the end it will be possible to prove that Apple tried to bribe government officials in order to receive favorable treatment, but the case is interesting.
