Yesterday we presented the first reviews of the tablet Microsoft Surface Pro, a product that is hard to place in a certain category, because it runs a desktop OS, but tries to be a tablet. Slashgear has decided to do a brief comparison between MacBook Air si Microsoft Surface Pro, the Apple product being most often remembered as the true competitor of the tablet. The MacBook Air has an 11-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, weighs 1.07 kilograms and has a thickness of 0.68 inches in the upper part and a very interesting design.

The Microsoft Surface Pro has a 10.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, weighs 907 grams and is 0.53 inches thick on its entire side. Regarding the internal hardware, the MacBook Air is available in versions that have Intel i5 or i7 processors, with a minimum of 64 GB flash storage, the Microsoft Surface being available only with Intel i5 processors and a minimum of 64 GB flash storage. From the point of view of hardware and construction, there are no big differences, there are still very big differences in terms of design and interactivity.

The Microsoft Surface Pro has a touchscreen and a detachable keyboard, the MacBook Air has a much better autonomy and is prepared to run an operating system for desktops without problems, while the Surface has been criticized for the fact that Windows 8 is not the best solution for a mobile terminal. Practically, Microsot tried to offer users the best things in the world of ultrabooks and tablets, but in the opinion of many it failed, but success is measured in sales and not in the opinions of the reviewers.
