Apple hires a former LG expert in OLED screens

For years it has been rumored that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), they would implement OLED screens in their own iDevices and here we have an end an information to confirm the possible use of this technology in future Apple products. A former LG expert in OLED screens was hired by the Apple company, Dr. Jeung Jil Lee, working in the past both at LG and at Cambridge Display Technology. Unfortunately, no further details are known about this employment, but it is clear that Apple is testing the possible implementation of OLED screens in its own devices.

Apple has hired a new executive into its Display group – Dr. Jueng Jil Lee, a former research fellow at LG Display, who apparently was involved with printing technology research. Dr. Lee's previous employee (before LGD) was Cambridge Display Technology, the P-OLED pioneer (now owned by Sumitomo).

Apple's interest comes from the fact that OLED screens can be thinner than the classic LCDs now used in iDevices, but it is hard to say if they will ever reach iOS terminals. Even so, the interest in this technology suggests that Apple is constantly looking for ways to improve its mobile terminals.
