Vodafone UK warns its customers not to update to iOS 6.1 due to 3G connectivity problems, other users complain of autonomy problems

iOS 6.1 it was launched almost 2 weeks ago by Apple and although initially few people complained about the existence of any problems with its functions, now more and more information is starting to appear. To begin with, I will tell you that Vodafone UK sent a message to its customers who own iPhone 4S terminals, recommending them to avoid the update to iOS 6.1 as it would affect their 3G connectivity. Vodafone claims that users who have iOS 6.1 and use iPhones in their own network, have problems connecting to the Internet, making calls or sending messages, everything is related to iOS 6.1, and Apple is trying to solve the problem, iOS beta 6.1.1 1 being specially designed in this sense.

Some customers may occasionally experience difficulty in connecting to the network to make or receive calls or texts or to connect to the Internet. Apple is working on a solution to their software issue. These connection problems are intermittent. While Apple's investigations continue, we would recommend that anyone who has not yet installed iOS 6.1 on their iPhone 4s should delay doing so until Apple has confirmed that their problem has been fixed.

Apart from the 3G problems, on the Apple discussion forums exist many people who complain about the substantial reduction in battery life of their iDevices after installing iOS 6.1. The problem seems to be related to Apple Mail and Microsoft Exchange, these two systems causing an unusual functionality of the software, the end result being an unexpected decrease in autonomy. Restoring the iDevices and avoiding installing a backup seems to have solved the problem for some, so you know how you can return everything to normal if you have problems.

I went to see the genius yesterday. My problem was that my usage was almost identical to my stand by times, which means that something was continuing to run in the background after closing all the apps. I was told to turn off location services and then one by one turn each in turn to see which one was causing the drain on the battery. I was impatient so I just factory reset the handset which seems to have fixed the problem. I'll keep you all posted on how it continues.
