Tim Cook claims that the large sales of Android terminals do not denote the fact that the platform is very successful

Today Apple held the annual meeting of shareholders, and Tim Cook spoke about the evolution of the company in the last year and about various other things related to the future. In the question and answer session that took place after his speech, Cook was asked what Apple intends to do in the face of the "explosion" in sales recorded by Android terminals. As an answer, Tim Cook stated that the success of some products/platforms should not be measured only based on the number of products sold by one or more manufacturers.

Cook claims that Apple could manufacture the most products in a certain category, referring here to smartphones, of course, but this would not benefit the company. At the moment, iPad tablets are the most successful, and Cook wanted to mention this, stating that Android products do not enjoy the same popularity. Although Apple won't be making the most iPhones in the near future, Cook doesn't seem interested in surpassing Samsung in terms of smartphone sales.
