Intel announces a new version of Thunderbolt with support for 4K resolutions and transfer speeds of up to 20 Gbps (Video)

During last evening Intel announced officially improving technology Thunderbolt available in Macs and not only, the new version being compatible with 4K resolutions, but also being able to transfer files with speeds of up to 20 Gbps. The technology that Intel is preparing to bring to the market next year could offer the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), the possibility of launching an iMac equipped with Retina Display, especially since the processors that will include it now have the ability to support such a high resolution.

The new version of Thunderbolt will be included in the Intel Falcon Ridge processors that will most likely be implemented in the Macs that will arrive on the market next year and although the technology is announced to be interesting, in the absence of another Mac with Thunderbolt you will not really use. It would be extremely good for Apple to launch an iMac equipped with Retina Display, but I am sure that this measure will lead to an increase in the selling price for this product line, and for Apple this would be inappropriate.
