WhatsApp Messenger is the most popular text messaging network in the world, the company's application being used by over 430 million people around the world. If you look at the image above you will see that this figure represents an increase of 115% of the number of users compared to April of last year, the number of messages sent daily increasing in exactly the same percentage. Practically WhatsApp Messenger it has almost half a billion active users, but the interesting part is just now coming.
According to some statistics published a week ago, the number of daily messages that pass through the WhatsApp servers is greater than the total number of SMS sent daily around the globe. Practically, on the whole planet, less than 50 billion SMS/MMS are sent daily through mobile operators, WhatsApp Messenger becoming, at least in theory, the largest platform for sending text messages. The data are of course unofficial, but analysts tend to believe that they are true and for WhatsApp we are talking not only about a real achievement, but also about a possible record.
