Apple and its interest in acquiring a car manufacturer

Over the weekend, a series of information appeared that made us understand as members of the purchasing team within Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), would have discussed with the CEO Tesla about a possible acquisition of the company, or a collaboration regarding the implementation iOS in the Car in the respective cars. In an interview with Bloomberg, the CEO Tesla he denied discussions regarding the acquisition of his company, he avoided giving details about the communication he had with Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, but he stated that if asked, he would recommend Apple to produce cars.

Very shortly, we will be ready to share more information about the Tesla Gigafactory. This will allow us to achieve a major reduction in the cost of our battery packs and accelerate the pace of battery innovation. Working in partnership with our suppliers, we plan to integrate precursor material, cell, module and pack production into one facility. With this facility, we feel highly confident of being able to create a compelling and affordable electric car in approximately three years. This will also allow us to address the solar power industry's need for a massive volume of stationary battery packs.

Although Apple was not interested in producing cars, the company could have discussed with Tesla about a project called the Gigafactory, with the role of developing better and cheaper batteries for cars and more. A varied range of companies, including Panasonic, participates in this project, and for Apple the accession would have been auspicious, because it would have given it access to new technologies and cheap batteries produced in the USA. Apple has been trying for several years to produce more efficient batteries for IDevices, and if the partnership for the Gigafactory has been concluded, then we can expect interesting things in the future.
