BY A published article on the blog of the American company, its CEO officially announced that Samsung will acquire it, the unofficial amount being 200 million dollars, it will continue to function as an independent company within Samsung Open Innovation Center group.

Today is a big day for SmartThings. I'm excited to announce that SmartThings has been acquired by Samsung and will operate as an independent company within Samsung's Open Innovation Center group. We will continue to run SmartThings the way we always have: by embracing our community of customers, developers, and device makers and championing the creation of the leading open platform for the smart home.

Those from SmartThings they have an online store where you can view the multitude of products that allow monitoring the house or controlling lights, opening doors, etc., all using only mobile terminals. It has been speculated for several months that Samsung is looking for a company that it can use in the war against iOS 8 HomeKit and it seems that SmartThings it's his choice, a pretty good one, considering that his recent acquisition has quite a lot of popularity in the USA.
