Apple Maps Romania is the name I give to the maps dedicated to our country by Apple Maps, this being the only mapping service developed by the Apple company and launched in 2012 together with iOS 6. In two years of availability, Apple Maps Romania has evolved enormously, and that's because Apple finally started showing interest in presenting correct street names, or finally showing more points of interest.
If you have used Apple Maps Romania lately, then you probably noticed that the application displays correct data for most of the streets in the most important cities and especially for Bucharest. In the past, Apple Maps Romania was unable to provide 100% correct directions for various locations and did not have available important points of interest for most cities, but things are starting to change for the better as Apple finally gives us more importance.
Apple Maps Romania is finally becoming semi-useful
I noticed with pleasure that the analysis of Apple Maps Romania in iOS 8 it results in quite well mapped cities in many cases, with streets that have correct names and good positioning on the map, but more importantly, we have more points of interest. All kinds of big and small stores, malls and shops are now listed in Bucharest and in other cities in the country, the Apple company finally mustering the courage to "bend" its gaze on the Romanians.
Of course, we are not talking about the same level of detailed information as in the case of Google Maps and not about the same points of interest available for searches, but at least Apple Maps Romania becomes something more useful for us. I can honestly say that I still use Google Maps for searches and navigation when I have my phone in my hand and I would not rush to switch to Apple Maps Romania because I do not trust that the service will take me where I need to go.
