Nissan's CEO praises Apple's car development

Carlos Ghosn

Carlos Ghosn is the CEO Nissan, one of the largest car manufacturers, and during a conference organized at Mobile World Congress 2015 he wanted to praise the company's initiative Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to develop an autonomous electric car. Nissan is one of the supporters of the development of electric cars, having models for sale at the moment and developing others for launch on the market in the coming years. Considering that Nissan supports the development of electric cars, the CEO of the company claims that Apple's entry into this market is beneficial and will seriously contribute to the development of this type of automobile in the future.

If Apple does it, obviously it's good news for us. The fact that a company outside of the auto industry wants to do electric cars is refreshing.

Carlos Ghosn don't consider BMW, Tesla or even Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), as competitors, but as companies that seriously contribute to people's conviction that electric cars represent the future, and to a very large extent he is right. Moreover, the interest of a smartphone manufacturer to develop an electric car proves that the future belongs to this type of car and not to the classic ones, and if Apple goes down this road, others will certainly follow. If among the presidents of car manufacturers there are some smart enough and able to learn from the mistakes of Steve Ballmer or the former Palm CEO, then their companies will not be taken by surprise by Apple.
