2 million applications have been approved so far in App Store, in almost 7 years of the existence of one of the largest virtual application stores for smartphones and tablets, it being overtaken by the Google Play Store at the beginning of this year. Even so, the App Store generates the most money of all existing App Stores, both for the Apple company and for the developers who produce titles for it.
Returning now to the topic of this article, over 2 million applications have been approved in the App Store to date, but a third of them have been deleted or withdrawn by developers over time. In this idea, at the moment there are approximately 1.42 million applications that iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners can download, but most of them are useless.
Dividing the applications by category, we have 22.700 applications for Mac, 925.000 applications for iPhone terminals and 419.000 applications for iPad, and of those in the last two categories, over 544 thousand are universal. Practically, iPhone applications dominate the App Store, although this is easy to understand, those for Mac are available in very small quantities, and the universal ones are more than those for ipad.
These data are not exact because they are based on Apple's application feeds, but they are very close to the truth, so you know exactly what is hidden behind the great Apple App Store. Although the number of available applications is very large, the problem always lies in discovering the best ones, but also in the fact that Apple approves a lot of unnecessary applications just with the idea of increasing the number of available titles.
