Google and Levi's are developing pants that control your smartphone

Google smart pantsLevi's is one of the most famous jeans brands on the planet, and in an attempt to gain the attention of the whole world, the American company entered into a partnership with Google to create smart jeans. More specifically, Google and Levi's say they can create a pair of jeans that will allow us to control a smartphone without taking it out of our pocket, the Mountain View company presenting the idea at the recent Google I/O held in the US.

Google initiated a project called Project Jacquard, through which a type of intelligent threads will be developed that can be sewn to create materials that allow the control of various intelligent objects in our lives. During Google I/O, the company Google demonstrated how these smart wires can be used to control music from a smartphone, a piece of material sewn using them allowing interaction with the terminal.

The move is part of a bigger initiative by Google called "Project Jacquard," which is essentially a type of smart yarn that would allow textile manufacturers to create electronic clothing more easily. During a demo we saw on Thursday, we tapped a small section of a piece of fabric to pause and play music. You could also swipe the fabric to control volume.

Although Google is not the first company to think of such a type of smart material, the fact that it is interested in developing everything into a product that can be used in almost any kind of clothing products. Even if Levi's collaborates with Google to develop a pair of jeans that would allow us to control many functions of smartphones by simply touching the material, no one knows when products of this kind could reach the market.

What do you think, would you like to be able to control various gadgets by simply touching your pants or blouses?
