iPhone and iPad sales equaled PC sales for the first time

iDevice PC salesLast night the company Apple announced its financial results for Q3 2015, and according to its data no less than 58.4 million iPhones and iPads were sold worldwide, sales of iPod Touches being excluded from this calculation.

According to the calculations of some American analysts, the sales of iPhones and iPads equaled for the first time in history the sales of PCs running the Windows operating system, this being an extremely important achievement for the Apple company, considering that it is unlikely we can say something similar about Macs.

The calculation takes into account the sales of the last 12 months, so not only what Apple achieved in Q3 2015, but also what it announced in the previous fiscal quarters, and in total we are talking about almost 300 million units sold in both product categories for users.

The graph demonstrates the fact that iPhone and iPad sales have grown constantly from 2007 until now, and the trend shows us that in the coming years the current sales could double, while the sales of PCs would continue to decreases significantly.

The sales of Android terminals have exceeded the sales of PCs since March 2012, and with this achievement of the Apple company we have a new confirmation of the fact that the future is mobile, PC manufacturers having great problems in convincing the world that their products are worth bought.

If Apple didn't manage to turn Macs into products "cool" enough to generate sales of hundreds of millions of units annually, it managed to do so with its iPhones and iPads, and regardless of the category of products, the achievement is impressive.
