Fossil bought Misfit

Fossil buys MisfitMisfit is one of the most well-known manufacturers of wearables for smartphones, and last night it was found out that the well-known watch manufacturer Fossil purchased it.

The group Fossil would have spent no less than 260 million dollars to buy Misfit and everything that the company offers, and of course that Fossil intends to integrate all the technologies from wearables in its own watches that will be sold on the market starting from 2016.

Considering that recently most of the competitors Apple Watch had problems in maintaining their sales at a high level, it was expected that various wearable manufacturers would be bought by the big watch manufacturing groups.

Publicly traded Fossil expects to incorporate Misfit's technology into products that look like traditional watches, rather than rubber fitness trackers, as soon as next year. It plans to continue producing Misfit's own products, as well, Mr. McKelvey said. He said the company's battery life innovation was especially appealing to Fossil.

With the integration of Misfit in Fossil watches, the group could offer smartwatches with extended functionality for users, and this is because at the moment classic watches are no longer as sought after by users as they were in the past.
