Apple Watch – 21 million units sold in the first year

Apple Watch 2.1 million unitsApple Watch is one of the products Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), for which the American company avoids providing clear information regarding official sales, and this gives analysts the opportunity to make all kinds of speculations more or less real about sales.

According to some recent information, some analysts estimate that Apple would sell 21 million units of Apple Watch in the first year of availability of the product on the market, the figure being halved compared to the initial estimates for only 9 months of availability, but anyway too high for reality.

Estimating an average selling price of $400 for each unit, analysts believe that Apple would earn $8.4 billion from the Apple Watch in the first year of the product's existence, the figure itself being enormous for a simple smartwatch.

According to these estimates, Apple would have sold 3 million units of the Apple Watch in the third or fiscal quarter of 2015, 4 million units in the second and would sell 8 million units in Q1 2016 (the three months of of 2015) and 6 million in Q2 2016.

To be completely honest, the numbers seem to be much too high for the potential of the Apple Watch, even though many users love their products and would give them as gifts at any time, smartwatches not being that popular globally.

What do you think, does Apple have a chance to sell 21 million units of the Apple Watch in the first year of product availability?
