The iPhone 7 will come without a 3.5mm audio port

iPhone 7 without 3.5mm audio portIt has been rumored for several months that The iPhone 7 will come without a 3.5mm audio port, company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), intending to give up this component in order to reduce the thickness of the device that it will launch on the market during this year.

Removing this audio port will force users to use only the Lightning port to connect headphones to iPhone 7, if they do not have wireless accessories, and this requires the purchase of special adapters that will allow their use without problems.

These rumors are confirmed today by two Asian publications, which cite sources from within some companies close to Apple, claiming that the iPhone 7 will indeed come without a 3.5mm audio port, and Apple will release a pair of headphones wireless.

Eliminating the audio port and problems

The removal of the 3.5mm audio port is problematic, because many users without wireless audio headphones would not be able to charge their devices while listening to music with headphones, and considering that iPhones discharge quickly, many do this while traveling.

On the other hand, Apple could implement a wireless charging system that would partially eliminate this problem, but the simplest would be to include a pair of wireless headphones in the packages of the iPhone 7 terminals sold around the world, which would also could happen.

Now from rumor to reality is a very long way, but the frequency with which this information is brought to the attention of the world suggests that Apple really has at least a prototype of iPhone 7 that does not have a 3.5mm audio port, but whether it will be released or not, remains to be seen.

From my point of view, the removal of the 3.5mm audio port would be useful if it came take away with another change, i.e. the implementation of a wireless charging system or the complete protection of the components from contact with water, but I think that Apple will think simpler than that.
