The presidents of Google and WhatsApp support Tim Cook in the fight with the FBI

Yesterday the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was the center of attention for publicly refusing to compromise iOS security for the FBI, those from Cupertino being obliged to help the American federal agency to obtain access to the data of a iPhone used by two terrorists before an attack that killed 14 people.

The CEO of WhatsApp claims that he admired Tim Cook for the position he has always had regarding the security of iOS platform users, and in this fight with the FBI he is one of the strong supporters of keeping data secure in terminals.

To the same extent, the CEO Google, Sundar Pichai, stated that the position taken by Apple in front of the FBI is extremely important for the safety of users' data in the future and that his company will try by any means to convince the authorities not to impose the compromise of iOS or Android security.

The two presidents represent companies that offer products used by billions of people on the planet, and ensuring the security of these people is important, mainly to generate the perception that the services are safe to use and no one will take data from them illegally.

I have always admired Tim Cook for his stance on privacy and Apple's efforts to protect user data and could not agree more with everything said in their Customer Letter today. We must not allow this dangerous precedent to be set. Today our freedom and our liberty is at stake.

Apple alone would have had a long battle to fight against the American government to maintain iOS security at a high level, but together with Google, Facebook and other companies, the fight becomes much easier, the American government having immense pressure put by these companies.
