Apple postpones offering help to the FBI, has the support of Twitter and Facebook

Although a court issued a decision by which force Apple to help the FBI to decrypt the data from an iPhone used by two terrorists in an attack resulting in 14 victims in the USA, those from Cupertino managed to obtain an extended deadline to provide an answer to the authorities.

The lawyers of the Apple company managed to obtain an extension of the deadline in which they must give an answer to the authorities regarding the request to decrypt the iPhone, the date of February 26 being now established as the limit by which those from Cupertino must say how or if I can help the FBI.

Initially only 5 days were given to the Apple company to give an answer to the decision, but the term was extended by 3 days, so that now Apple's lawyers will have additional time to try to find new methods to prevail on the American company to comply obligations imposed by the decision.

The information was published shortly after Facebook and Twitter announced their support for Apple in its fight with the US government not to compromise the security of iOS in order to implement access ports in its operating system.

We condemn terrorism and have total solidarity with victims of terror. Those who seek to praise, promote, or plan terrorist acts have no place on our services. We also appreciate the difficult and essential work of law enforcement to keep people safe," the statement reads. "When we receive lawful requests from these authorities we comply. However, we will continue to fight aggressively against requirements for companies to weaken the security of their systems. These demands would create a chilling precedent and obstruct companies' efforts to secure their products.

Practically everyone is joining Apple to fight against the government that is trying at all costs to get easy access to Americans' data and more, and their initiative has extremely low chances of success, so no one should think about the fact that everything that exists now in terms of security in iOS will be compromised.
