Apple Watch generated in the first 12 months approximately 6 billion for the Apple company, analysts estimating that Apple sold 12 million units at an average selling price of $500, and that's how you arrive at that colossal amount.
Many people still claim that the Apple Watch is a failure, but reality contradicts them because the Apple product turns out to be a real success, having the title of the most successful Apple product in its first year of existence.
Although the comparison is a bit forced, some presents the Apple Watch as a real success because it managed to overtake even Rolex in sales, the Rolex company collecting 4.5 billion dollars last year, 1.5 billion dollars more than the amount generated by Apple Watch sales.
Although Apple has a luxury model of the Apple Watch, its price starting at 10.000 dollars and reaching up to 19.000 euros, few models of this kind have been sold, most of the units delivered being the cheap ones, with an average price of 500 dollars .
To put things even better in perspective, the entire Swiss watchmaking industry generated $20 billion in revenue in 2015, so the Apple Watch alone generated almost a third of this amount, the achievement being amazing.
In conclusion, the Apple Watch did not meet the unrealistic expectations of the analysts, but it still recorded very good sales and revenues to the extent.
