The market share of iOS is falling in the most important areas of the globe

iOS is not doing very well at the moment, the market share of Apple's operating system falling in the most important areas on the planet, according to a study made by the Kantar company and published during the past day.

In the 5 most important countries in Europe, EU5, iOS market share fell from 20.2% to 18.9% in the first 3 months of 2016, Android having the largest growth in the last 2 years, more precisely by 7.1 percentage points for the market share, it reaching 75.6% now.

Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany and Spain are the monitored countries, and for Android we are talking about sales increases for a variety of manufacturers, not just for the main ones, a sign that Chinese manufacturers are becoming more and more popular in Europe.

In China, things are even worse for Apple, there the market share of iOS registering a decrease from 26.1% to 21.1%, this while Android reached 77.7%, up 5.9% more than in the same period last year, most of the increase coming from Apple.

There were solid gains in the EU5 (Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain), up 7.1% points to 75.6%. In the US, Android share increased 7.3% points to 65.5%, and in China, it rose nearly 6% points to over 77%. Android share could also be negatively affected by high demand for the Apple iPhone SE.

So far, the first three months of 2016 have proven to be extremely bad for the Apple company and many people are waiting to see what effect the iPhone SE launch will have on the sales of those from Cupertino, but the first signs are not so great.

Unfortunately for Apple, iOS has lost a good part of its market share in the most important regions of the globe and without important products launched, things will not be resolved soon.
