6 people were arrested in an attempt to make fraudulent purchases from the Apple Store

Chicago police have announced the arrest of no less than 6 people who tried to use stolen credit cards and fake identities to make fraudulent purchases at Apple Stores in Chicago, the authorities have had those people under surveillance for some time.

According to the police, the 6 people flew specifically to the city of Chicago to make those purchases, probably with the idea that the risk of discovering the fact that they use stolen credit cards would be lower, but even so the police managed to stop them before they cheated the stores Apple and leave innocent people without their hard earned money.

The police in Chicago are talking about organized crime in this case, and the arrested persons made purchases for 4 days in the city before being detained by the police, who confiscated products worth 10.000 dollars from the said criminals, which will be returned to the Apple company.

The police action was most likely based on some complaints made by people who were cheated after the criminals bought products from the same Apple Store in Chicago on various occasions, and repeating the same scheme too many times seems to have been problematic for them .

The sheriff's office obtained information last week indicating that criminals are attempting to make fraudulent purchases at various Apple stores in the city of Chicago. Subsequent investigations revealed that the suspects were using false identities and stolen credit cards to make similar purchases in other areas of the country.

Apple has also been the target of criminals of this kind in the past, its products having such a high resale value that the purchase with stolen credit cards, or the direct theft of the devices, represent extremely profitable crimes, so their number has grown exponentially in recent years, without the police being able to do anything.
