iOS 10 – disables the iPhone screen turning on when picked up

Disables the iOS 10 function called Raise to Wake, implemented to automatically light the iPhone screen when we pick it up.

One of the new functions implemented by the Apple company in iOS 10, which I like without any reservations, is the iPhone screen turning on when you pick it up. Apple calls it Raise to Wake, it turns on the iPhone screen when you pick it up from the table or take it out of your pocket, without pressing any button.

This function of iOS 10 is meant to simplify our interaction with the terminal, Raise to Wake turning on the screen when we raise it and blocking it again when we put the terminal down. I do not recommend in any way to disable the Wake-up display function because it does not generate additional battery energy consumption, on the contrary.

However, if you want to disable the Raise to Wake function, regardless of the reasons, then you can do it by following the steps below:

  • Access Settings, Configurations.
  • Access Display and Brightness, Display & Brightness.
  • Press the button Raise to Wake display, if it is colored green.

Now the screen will no longer automatically light up when you pick up the terminal, but I do not recommend disabling the function except for privacy reasons.
