Tim Cook says that Apple will continue to release updates for the Mac Pro series, last updated in December 2013, but also for the iMac or Mac Mini. A lot of people have been asking for updates for these series for months and months, and Tim Cook says they will come, but it will take some time for the products to be released.
Asked if there is a possibility that the iPad and Mac lines will be combined in a new product with a touch screen and macOS, Tim Cook did not want to comment on these speculations. He only stated that iPad and Mac are separate products that have different functions, so from this we should understand that there will not be any product combined between them.
"You will see us do more in the pro area. The pro area is very important to us. The creative area is very important to us in particular. Don't think something we've done or something that we're doing that isn't visible yet is a signal that our priorities are elsewhere. Expect us to do more and more where people will see it as a laptop replacement, but not a Mac replacement – the Mac does so much more. To merge these worlds, you would lose the simplicity of one, and the power of the other."
