This is how we will turn an iPhone into a laptop

The Apple company does not want the iPhone to be inferior to the Samsung Galaxy S8, so in a recent patent it describes an extremely interesting technology. More precisely, the people from Apple show us how we could turn an iPhone into a laptop through a very simple method used by some smartphone manufacturers.

More precisely, those from Apple think that in the future they could sell the case of a laptop with a built-in screen, and probably other associated components. It would not have a processor or RAM memory, but it would have a dock in which we could insert an iPhone from which images would be taken and then displayed on that screen.

The idea described by Apple in this patent is not new, but it could also be applied to iPad tablets in the future. The idea is that the iPhone or iPad provides the processing power and the information, while this accessory would only take the images to display them on a larger screen and provide a larger physical keyboard.

Basically, Apple thinks it has found the perfect solution to turn an iPhone, or an iPad tablet, into a laptop in the future, and that would convince many people not to buy an actual laptop. The accessory that would have the shape of a laptop could have a design similar to that of a MacBook, but working on the basis of the iPhone or iPad, it would have limited functions.

The processing power would be lower than that of a laptop, but the functionality could be similar, that is, we could use it for surfing the Internet, games, productivity functions, etc. Apple could also include additional storage space, if needed, plus a FaceTimes camera, could have a battery for charging the terminals and many others.

"The present application describes various embodiments of systems and methods for providing internal components for portable computing devices having a thin profile. More particularly, the present application describes an electronic accessory device available to extend and expand the usefulness of a portable computing device."

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a special accessory called DeX that will allow the terminal to be transformed into a PC, but with the help of an external monitor. Apple proposes a somewhat more complex and useful solution than that, the product itself will also cost more, if it will ever be launched on global markets.
