Facebook - Very Important Change Announced

Facebook has announced a very important change for users, the Safety Check function being now displayed in its own section in the iPhone, Android application.

Facebook made during this evening a very important change for the social network that over 2 billion people worldwide use every month. It comes just a few days after a terrorist attack shook the whole world, those from Facebook intending to help its users to reassure their friends and family in case a tragedy of this kind happens in the city where find out.

During this day, Facebook announced the creation of a special page that displays information for the Safety Check function that it activates when terrorist attacks or natural disasters occur. This function helps users to tell all their friends through Facebook that they are safe, despite what happened in the area where they are, all friends knowing this simultaneously.

Facebook created this special page to display inside it the event that happened, but also information from all the people who marked themselves as safe. You can see in the image below what the interface of the Safety Check page looks like, which Facebook has created especially for users who want to notify their friends that they are safe.

Facebook allows viewing important events not only from the area where we are, but also from other areas on the planet, plus people who have marked themselves as safe. The new Facebook Safety Check section is available for access from the menu More of the application for iPhone and Android, or from the section that allows us to view the pages in the web version of the platform.

Facebook does not present the Safety Check function in the foreground for users, but it sends notifications when an important event happens. When we mark ourselves as safe using the Safety Check function, a notification is sent to Facebook users from our friends list, and everyone will be able to see the event and be reassured that we are safe.

Facebook announced the launch of this feature now, but it will be rolled out for several weeks to users around the world during this time. It is not known how long it will take until we will all have it available, but those at Facebook propagate all these changes quite quickly, so it is very possible that in less than a week we will have the new function available for use.
