iPhone 8 – How Useful is Wireless Charging?

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X have integrated wireless charging, the Apple company offering it limited now, but how useful is it for customers?

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X have implemented wireless charging systems by the Apple company, the function being offered for the first time for mobile phones from Cupertino. We are talking about a wireless charging system for the iPhone 8 that is based on the Qi standard, so any kind of wireless charging pads, such as available here, will be able to charge the new phones for Apple customers.

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X currently have charging limited to that of the standard charger, with Apple promising to increase it to 7.5W with a future iOS update. This will allow you to reduce the wireless charging time of the iPhone 8, but it will not bring it anywhere near as close to that of the fast charging system that Apple offers, also for the first time, starting this year.

I think that wireless charging is useless, in some conditions

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X can charge via cable faster than any other Apple phone, if you have this charger si this cable, or an equivalent charger. In this situation, the wireless charging in the iPhone 8 is as useful as the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth buttons in the Control Center when you are at home, at a friend's house, in the car, or on the moon, because charging by cable is better.

The iPhone 8 has a wireless charging system based on induction, which means you have to put the phone on a charging pad to start the process, so whether you do that or connect it to a cable, you don't "win" I said it many times and I repeat, as long as the wireless charging is not done remotely, the induction one is as useful as connecting a cable to the iPhone 8, in most situations.

When is wireless charging useful on the iPhone 8

Wireless charging from iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X is useful when you go to the city to places where there are wireless charging pads, in the car if you have something for wireless charging, or anywhere you can't connect a cable for faster charging. Wireless charging is mainly useful when you are not at home and you do not have a cable at hand, and abroad there will be many who will appreciate it.

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X will be able to be charged wirelessly in many places abroad, mainly fast food places, or those like Starbucks, or others like that. Foreigners with newer models of cars also have wireless charging in them, and here we are again talking about a great utility, but otherwise we return to the uselessness that also requires the use of a cable to do wireless charging.

What I would like

Wireless charging at 1-2 meters from the power source, several locations with wireless charging available, possibly some public ones, even in public transport, not just restaurants. Of course, I would be asking too much because no phone has such a thing, but that means wireless charging, the rest being a marketing trick for those willing to brag about absolutely nothing really useful.

What do you think ?
