Jony Ive is once again in charge of Apple Product Design

Jony Ive is the Chief Design Officer at the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, and this should have meant that he was constantly dealing with the creation of the designs that Apple products have. Well, as long as Apple Park was under construction, i.e. for more than 5 years, Jony Ive was more focused on that project, and on the design of the Apple Stores, than on the design of the Apple company's products.

What effect did this have? Well, about 3 years of iPhone with the same design, plus an iPhone X that has a strange cut in the screen, which Apple is proud of because it has no way to react otherwise. Considering that Apple Park is almost completed, Jony Ive announced that he is now back in charge of the Apple design team and all designers will be under his command again.

In recent years, Jony Ive did not have the day-to-day work of his designers under close supervision, but two other subordinates took care of it, he being informed only about the important things. Now Jony Ive is back at the head of the design team and is turning his attention to his day-to-day work for the creation of future products that the Apple company intends to launch.

"With the completion of Apple Park, Apple's design leaders and teams are again reporting directly to Jony Ive, who remains focused purely on design."

Jony Ive will also supervise the creation of the design for iOS, and this means that we may again see Apple products that look very good and an iOS with a design closer to reality. Jony Ive is without question a brilliant designer with a brilliant mind, and what has happened in recent years suggests that Apple will be seriously affected if he ever decides to leave.
