CES 2018 it was a perfect time because Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), to talk with various suppliers of components to buy some that will be used in a product that has been in the development process for more than a year with a view to launch. More precisely, at CES 2018, the Apple company discussed with various companies about the components that would be used in its future augmented reality headset.

Rumors that appeared this year suggested that Apple wants to launch the headset for virtual reality during 2019, and CES 2018 was the moment when company representatives discussed the acquisition of components for it. If Apple really wants to launch its virtual reality headset in 2019, then it must prepare the launch in time, by default in 2018.

Although those from Apple talked with various suppliers for components dedicated to this product, they were not the only ones, because Xiaomi, Facebook and Google had similar meetings at CES 2018. We are talking here about 4 companies that showed their interest in to develop headsets for augmented reality, but they are not the only ones, because the technology is growing in popularity.

"During CES, representatives from major players like Apple, Facebook, and Google met with suppliers that make the nuts and bolts required to power AR glasses, according to people familiar with the meetings. Smaller firms like Snap and China's Xiaomi also met with potential partners at the show, indicating a desire to build their own AR headsets. Behind the scenes, Samsung and LG have already placed small orders of AR components to start prototyping devices."

Augmented reality is starting to "gain ground" in front of virtual reality, which doesn't really seem to be that popular anymore, despite the massive promotion made by companies. Until now, no one has managed to offer an immersive virtual reality experience that is also cheap, and augmented reality is not a substitute, despite everything Apple constantly says.
