WhatsApp has launched a new function in the application for iPhone and Android that displays a special mark for messages that have been redistributed from other people, they are displayed with the indicator Forwarded. This change tells us if a message received within WhatsApp is written by the person who sent it to us, or if it was written by another person and was sent back to us, so it must be seen as such and treated as one that comes from to a third party.

WhatsApp believes that by implementing this function, people should be much more attentive to the messages they receive, and not give them a very high degree of credibility if they do not come directly from the contact who forwarded them. In this idea, people who see messages sent back from other people through WhatsApp should consider that there is a possibility that the information written there is not 100% true and we should not fully trust them.
"Starting today, WhatsApp will indicate which messages you receive have been forwarded to you. This extra context will help make one-on-one and group chats easier to follow. It also helps you determine if your friend or relative wrote the message they sent or if it originally came from someone else."
WhatsApp has almost reached the point where it no longer knows what to do to stop the phenomenon of fake news, including starting an advertising campaign in newspapers and magazines in India to prevent the killing of other people. WhatsApp claims that the new function is offered for iPhone and Android phones in the latest versions of the applications developed by it, so to see it you will have to have them installed, otherwise the mark will not be visible for messages sent back to us.
