iPhone XS was launched in September by the Apple company, and the first units were produced with screens delivered exclusively by the Samsung company, but things are about to change. Those from LG seem to have managed to reach the quality standards imposed by the Apple company for the manufacture of OLED screens, and the iPhone XS would benefit from them, together with the iPhone XS Max, but it is not known to what extent, at least for now.

The iPhone XS was at one point rumored to implement LG's OLED screens before launch, but that didn't happen because Apple's quality specifications couldn't be reached. Now those from LG have managed to pass the quality tests of those from Apple, so the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will have screens from this manufacturer, but it is not known if the units delivered to customers, or the screens will be used only for repairs.

The iPhone XS could be produced with up to 2 million OLED screens that Apple has requested from LG, but everything also depends on its ability to fulfill its obligations vis-à-vis the Americans. Some speculate that LG could only supply a maximum of 400.000 OLED screens for the iPhone XS this year, and under these conditions, those from Samsung will still remain the main suppliers of this type of components for Apple.

"LG Display has begun production of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels to supply to Apple. The mass production of this month will begin in earnest and delivery will begin from next month. However, according to a number of industry observers familiar with the LG display, the number of panels supplied to Apple this year is estimated to be about 400,000 units."

The iPhone XS has so far been devoid of major problems with the screens, although some Samsung phones have had serious problems in the past with green stripes appearing in various corners, and not only that. OLED screens from LG have been used in Google Pixel phones in the past, they had various problems, so it will be interesting to see how good they will be for the iPhone XS series, or if Apple will have new beats head with their customers.
